Getting Started With Adsense
One advantage when signing up with Google AdSense is its fast process. It literally only takes a few minutes to get started and build ad banners that you can place on your website. Here are some tips and step-by-step processes that can help you familiarize yourself when using Google AdSense.
Navigating Start-up Page
The very first step in using Google AdSense is to go to its webpage http://www/google.com/adsense. Here you can log in using your existing Google account or apply for one if you don’t have one yet. You will then be presented with Google AdSense terms and conditions that you have to read first and agree in order to continue.
After signing up, you will be able to see a report page, which can allow you to view a detailed tracking on your AdSense advertisements. This can help you improve and update your website’s content and layout to rake in more AdSense earnings.
A link to the setup page can be found at the top. In here you can generate the code that you will need to place in your website in order to have the ad banners appear on your site.
Lastly, there’s the “My Account” section where you can provide details regarding your account, payment and tax information.
Customizing an Ad
Before proceeding, make sure you have cookies enabled in your browser first. Go to the “AdSense Setup tab then click “AdSense for Content”. You can choose ad units, which contain text and images with detailed description, or link units which contain links to certain types.
You may only use three ad units and one link unit per page. You can experiment and view a sample of how it will turn up on your page to the right of your screen. After that, you can now customize the format and colors of the ad.
Google will provide you with color palettes and eleven ad formats to choose from so you can control the look of the ad depending on your website. Click “Continue” at the bottom of the page when you are done with customizing.
Getting the Code
You are now presented with JavaScript text that you can copy and paste to your web pages directly. Depending on the dynamics of your site, paste the code within your template to get the ad banners displayed on any page of your site.
Some advertisers do not prefer AdSense ads on every page, but again, it all depends on how a website is run. Finally, Google will then search your website for its content and keywords which are used to determine the relevant ads that will show on your website.
So there you have it. With AdSense, creating and placing ads for your website won’t be a hassle anymore. The easy and rapid process makes Google AdSense a popular choice for many advertisers and publishers alike.
